Snail Tale: Moving

It's a very fine day today. Sunny and hot. Somehow, it reminds me of the day when Jaclyn left Malaysia. Probably because of the annoying sound effects of the planes flying over my house too, I don't know. Be that as it may, I have no choice but to live with it. I can't just move out from this house or move the airport to somewhere else, can I?

Talking about moving, I saw a snail today. Not a big deal though but I don't get to see them everyday, unlike the planes! Well, this creature was trying its best to crawl up the wall. I did a little research, most of the snails move 1mm/s by alternating their bodies with stretching. To crawl a wall with that speed, that's crazy. But snails do crazy things, don't they? Sometimes, they even crawl around nakedly (without their shells).

We all know that it's exciting to explore a new place. The environment, weather, people, culture, all of that. Everything seems to be so fresh, yet even the sky looks completely different than the one that you live with throughout your life. You are so excited that you can't resist yourself from taking a second look at it (I don't know whether Jaclyn does that or not though. You need to ask her about it.) Probably that's the reason that the snail that I saw was trying to climb over the wall. The moon looks better on the other side.

Anyway, moving to a new place is what I want to talk about. Jaclyn used to tell me that she wished to study overseas, at least once in her life. It wasn't an easy decision, really. The day that she left was probably the day that both of us cried the most in this year. Yea, shame... I didn't manage to go with her. If only I could be born earlier, that would probably make a little difference.

However, I'm glad that we can see each other real soon. Christmas, it is. The best gift from my parents. :D

  1. I agree that it's really exciting to explore a new place and yet it wasn't an easy decision. What will you do if you apart from your beloved and surrounded by new faces?
Yes, visiting me this Christmas is the best gift. Thank you very much, uncle & aunty.

  2. i never seen a snail crawling naked before.

if i were given a chance, i would die to be able to go overseas, at least once in my life too. to have love ones going with us will be the bonus, without it's ok for me. maybe i'm tired of expecting the unexpected, especially having someone who prefers to sit at home than going out to explore.

Happy Christmas to both of u ^^
